You've Got Lael

Nov 11, 2021

When it comes to our emotions, most of us have experienced the influence of hormones. Even a slight fluctuation in our hormonal system can affect how we think and feel. As I recover from burnout, I keep wondering, How much of what I'm going through right now is related to changes in my hormones? How much of this breaking down and my emotionality is related to perimenopause?

How can I harness the wisdom that comes with this life transition without being jerked around by my symptoms?

I wanted to ask my friend and colleague Brodie Welch these questions. As a Licensed Acupuncturist, board-certified herbalist, and someone with immense personal and progressional experience with burnout and menopause, I knew she would have some insight for me.

I want us to normalize perimenopause. I want us to embrace the gifts and wisdom that come with this life transition. I want us to have the information and support to feel as good as possible while we move through it.

I hope my conversation with Brodie helps you see your body, your emotions, and your current life stage with new respect and admiration.
