You've Got Lael

Nov 18, 2021

Words create worlds. What kind of world are you creating? I asked my teacher and friend @rtgreenidge to talk me through what I've been exploring and dismantling in my work and my life. Perfectionism. Overworking. Yt culture + wellness. The things we talk about all the time.

I secretly hoped she would put my breakdown into context for you. But true to Rebecca's nature - she only had more questions for me.

Rebecca is what most people would call an anti-racism coach. But she's more than that, and as you'll hear in this week's episode, she's committed to creating a new world together.

She's exploring the words to describe what she's for and the transformation she facilitates.

Rebecca is slow medicine. She works on you over time. You can't gulp her teachings. You have to be willing to pull up a chair and hang out for a while.

If you are willing to grow and change and create a new world together, pull up a chair. There's room for you here.

From Rebecca:

Greetings of big love. I’m Rebecca Greenidge. I bring forward with me my ancestors who are the uprooted people of Polish, German, Irish, and British heritage. I also bring forward with me my partner, Jomo D.M. Greenidge, who is my best and most lasting teacher and who transitioned to ancestor in December 2020. I currently reside on the homelands of the Cowlitz people - colonized as Portland, Oregon.

My journey has led me to understand that I must heal the wounds that have enabled me to participate in systems of oppression and co-create the environment and conditions which allow those around me to heal themselves. As we heal, we loosen ourselves from dominance and participate in framing a world where everyone belongs.
