You've Got Lael

Oct 28, 2021

Today we're talking about something I'm not so great at - embodying my emotions. You'd think because I was a therapist and a yoga teacher, I'd get an A in this subject, but that's not the case. For a while, I've been telling myself that because I move on so quickly from difficult events or painful emotions, I must be a fast processor. That I was super skilled at digesting my emotions and moving on.

Now, I'm not so sure. I think what I might be doing is intellectualizing, compartmentalizing, and minimizing my true feelings. And not fully embodying them.

To help sort things out, I sat down with my friend and colleague Rachel Peters who knows a bit about this business of emotions.

Hope you enjoy the conversation and let us know what you're taking away from it.

Rachel is the creator of the yearlong Embody Ease Program and Advanced Mastermind Program and offers yoga online and in Prescott as Rachel Peters Yoga. She coaches women all over the world through her involvement with Yogahealer and co-leads virtual and integrated programs through Practice Wellness Community, a collaboration with two of her sisters on the yoga path.
